A note from Carla

My passion is working with families and children. I use an educative, family systems and cognitive-behavioral approach in counseling. Together, I work with clients to explore issues and potential solutions that will result in a more fulfilling life on their journey to personal growth.  

I specialize in Marriage and Family Therapy using a Family Systems approach. I use "Love and Logic" Techniques, which I believe are powerful tools for parents who want to Raise Responsible Children.  

I have 17 plus years of experience as a therapist. I have conducted workshops for the American Medical Association about Family Conflict and its effects on Children. I have been a presenter at the Raleigh Police Department on Child Development, as well as educating Wake County Foster Parents about the special challenges of fostering children. Together, I work with clients to explore issues and potential solutions that will result in a more fulfilling life on their journey to personal growth.  

My other areas of specialty are Couples Conflict, Parenting, Physical and Sexual Abuse, Substance Abuse and issues of Grief and Loss
