A note from rebecca
Life can take some unexpected detours along the way! I found that out when one of my children was born with some major, chronic and life- threatening health challenges. The anticipation of losing my child during the long term medical turmoil that dominated our lives for a few years roused a strong interest in grief and loss, which I define as change - both positive and negative.
Life transitions, loneliness and unexpected changes can be crippling. Living with chronic medical conditions, including pain, cancer, life transitions, loneliness, and spirituality issues can be overwhelming. Together, we can maneuver the challenges that bring you to therapy.
I received an M.Ed. degree in Counseling & Development from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX in 1998 and have been a NC LPC since 2002. I have been a Stephen Minister at my church since 2014.
My previous background was as a counselor and as an executive recruiter for the healthcare industry. I provided group and individual counseling at a Federal Correctional Complex, The Raleigh Lions Clinic for the Blind and a couple of non-profit organizations for individuals and families.
